Former Riverside County Superintendents Dr. David Long and Kenneth Young Endorse Oliver Unaka

RIVERSIDE, CA — The campaign to elect Oliver Unaka today announced it has received the formal endorsements of two former Riverside County Superintendents of Schools, Dr. David Long and Kenneth Young. The support of these two veteran educational leaders represents a powerful validation of Unaka’s vision for the Riverside County Office of Education and his commitment to expanding opportunities for students across Trustee Area One.

Dr. David Long, who served the county with distinction for years, emphasized Unaka’s unique ability to bridge the gap between policy and the classroom. "Oliver Unaka possesses the integrity and the vision necessary to advocate effectively for our students and teachers," said Long. "He understands that the Riverside County Office of Education must serve as a vital partner to local districts, ensuring that every child has access to a high-quality education regardless of their circumstances. I am confident that his leadership will provide the stability and forward-thinking approach our schools require."

Kenneth Young, widely recognized for his focus on innovation and organizational efficiency during his tenure as Superintendent, highlighted Unaka’s track record of collaborative problem-solving. "I am proud to endorse Oliver Unaka because leadership in education requires a rare balance of passion and pragmatism," Young stated. "In my experience, Oliver has consistently demonstrated a proven ability to bring people together to solve complex problems. He is exactly the kind of dedicated, strategic leader our county needs to navigate the challenges of modern education and ensure our students are prepared for the future."

Deeply honored by the endorsements, Oliver Unaka reaffirmed his commitment to building upon the foundation laid by his predecessors. "To have the confidence and support of leaders like Dale Long and Kenneth Young is a profound honor that I do not take lightly," said Unaka. "They set a high bar for leadership and service in Riverside County. I am fully committed to building on their legacy by prioritizing student safety, expanding career technical education and pre-apprenticeship programs, and ensuring our educational systems remain transparent and accountable to the families they serve."
